I am currently taking a break from FSX and DCS and enjoying a bit more 'sim lite' simming in Strike Fighters 2. I have had the series for some time but never really gotten into it but recently I have started modding the vanilla game and wow what a difference. Some of the terrain mods really improve the experience and NATO fighters 4 mod is a must have.

It is starting to feel like IL 2 FB with the number of aircraft available to fly. Anyway, I noticed there was no thread about SF2 and so I thought I would start one. I would be interested to hear other peoples experiences with this game and if there is enough of us, maybe we could start a screenshots thread.

Screenshots thread.Since we're all about add-ons here, could you share the location of the mods you've used? The screenshots are with vanilla F105 Thunderchief and the terrain is the excellent Vietnam air and Ground Expansion pack. I haven't gotten the latest Strike Fighters 2 Northern Atlantic release yet as I heard it was a little buggy but probably will down the track.

I really enjoy the games simplicity from time to time but on the other hand it doesn't hold my attention for very long for the same reason. I think I long for more medium fidelity flight sims such as the old Digital Integration series. This sounds strange but I think the immersion factor in these sims were greater than the present generation of sims. Flaming Cliffs 2 is a good example of medium fidelity but I think it is let down by mediocre campaigns and a lack of theatres.Nevermind, I'm back into FSX for the moment, learning the VRS Superbug.
